Day-by-day plan

Day 1
Xi'an

Lintong archaeology day

Use the Terracotta Warriors module as the fixed structure. Treat Huaqing Palace as a module-level tradeoff rather than an automatic second attraction.

Day 2
Xi'an

City Wall, museum choice and Muslim Quarter

Keep the second day inside central Xi'an. Choose the confirmed museum option, then use the old-town and evening modules without crossing the city repeatedly.

What to book ahead

No route-specific deadline is listed. Check each operator's official release calendar and the Attraction Booking guide before travel.

If you have fewer days

This is a 2-day route. If you have less time, remove one stop rather than compressing every day. Compare the route index for a plan designed around your actual trip length.

Why this sequence works

Lintong and central Xi’an are different travel days. Keeping the Warriors corridor together prevents a second long outward transfer, while the city day groups the wall, museum choice, towers, and food into a more flexible sequence.

The optional stop

Huaqing Palace belongs to Day 1 only when the full Lintong module matches the group’s stamina and interests. Removing it is the first way to make the itinerary calmer; moving it to Day 2 creates unnecessary backtracking.

Museum strategy

Use the museum module whose booking is actually confirmed. If the preferred museum is unavailable or closed, switch to the fallback module rather than buying an unofficial reservation or sacrificing the entire city day.

One-day alternative

If arrival or departure removes a full day, use the one-day Xi’an route and make the Warriors-versus-city choice explicitly.
